BAD LIES by Rolynn Anderson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
If you like golf and puns mixed with a dash of danger, this is the book for you. Heck, you don’t even need to like golf! This fast, fun read takes you on a whirlwind tour of Italy and the geology of the region—minus the jet lag.
Sophie Maxwell is a late-bloomer golfer with a past, one she wants firmly in her rear view mirror. Jack Walker is a geologist with a shadowy occupation and secrets that must be kept away from prying eyes.
When Jack’s father is hospitalized for life-threatening surgery, he reaches out to his estranged son for help. Sophie needs a caddie for an upcoming tournament in Italy—but more importantly, this talented yet scattered woman needs a coach. Reluctantly, Jack agrees to go and pulls out his mothballed golfer persona for this one request.
Sophie is immediately attracted to Jack—but tells herself he’s doing this out of obligation to his father, not her. She’s a professional—and so is he.
Will Sophie win the tournament, but lose her heart? Will Jack uncover a secret, only to be buried himself?
No spoilers! You must read this edge of your seat story and meet the ensemble cast for yourself to find out. I give this book a 5 shiny five iron salute and urge you to tee this up as your next read!
