Review: Ominous Legacy by Jannine Gallant

Ominous LegacyOminous Legacy by Jannine Gallant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 4th book in the Counter Strike series by Jannine Gallant. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and she did not disappoint. This page-turner starts with a mysterious legacy that sends experienced investigator, Wyatt Stone, and Talia Davis, a computer expert for the Counter Strike team. When they get together, the chemistry is clear--but is Talia ready to put her heart and her life on the line after a bad break-up. Will they and the budding romance survive the investigation--and the political impact? A nail biter and page turner, this novel earned 5 red, white, and blue stars from me and made me wonder, "What if?"

Book Review: The Power of Love and Murder by Brenda Whiteside

The Power of Love and Murder (book 4)The Power of Love and Murder by Brenda Whiteside
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forced to run for her life as a young woman, newly invented Penny Sparks has avoided being tracked down by her family's killer. Thanks to a kind woman who becomes her best friend, she reconnects with humanity--and her best friend's brother, Jake. As far as Jake is concerned, he'd love to get up close and personal with Penny, but there's something stopping her from completely opening up. His own demons of addiction make him think it's about his past, not hers. When the killer finds out she's still alive and in the country, things reel out of control. Will Jake be able to overcome his anger at Penny? Will Penny ever forgive herself? Read this outstanding and moving story to find out! (Tissue alert: the story made this hardhearted reader cry.)
