"It ain't nothin' like you've ever seen before, Sheriff."

That was when Sheriff Cotton Briggs found the body, slaughtered beyond recognition inside a random boxcar. The trains have always moved through McGregor Falls, Texas, but now they have brought something into town, something Briggs had hoped was forever in the past.

Fifteen-year-old Travis Braniff while exploring an old trainyard with a friend, encounters that same something. Both boys escape the creature's murderous intent, but now it is after them and will stop at nothing to prevent its secret from being revealed...too soon.

In Lyn I. Kelly's newest novel, the werewolf mythology is explored and rewritten, as vengeance is rendered onto a small Texas town and secrets are revealed. Skinwalker. Lycanthrope. Werewolf. Whatever the name, whatever the legend, an old evil has found its way into McGregor Falls, and no one is safe.

Book Tour and Giveaway: Forbidden: A Red Riding Hood Retelling by Adrienne Woods

Forbidden: A Red Riding Hood Retelling
by Adrienne Woods
Genre: Paranormal Fantasy Romance

This is not The Little Red Riding Hood we grew up with.

Supernatural races—vampires, werewolves, witches, you name it—all exist.
Eighteen-year-old Rue Chaperon and her family belong to an elite hunting society, the S.H.A—Supernatural Hunting Association—and what the Chaperons hunt best are werewolves. When a new hunting group convinces the Chaperons to team up with them and try a different approach to hunting the supernatural by taking out the Alpha, it sounded like a great idea.
Taking out the Alpha meant they'd eradicate the entire race.
Piece of cake, right?
But nothing is ever easy when you're a hunter.
A Little Red Riding Hood retelling with a spin that will make you believe not all fairytales were meant for children.

New Audio Release: Kiss of the Silver Wolf

I am thrilled to share the news that the long-awaited audio version of Kiss of the Silver Wolf is now available on Amazon! Narrated by Jeffery Lynn Hutchins, this is the origin story for so many of my characters, including the Anomaly Defense Director everyone loves, Bert Blackfeather. Get ready to rock your Memorial Day weekend with this sexy werewolf story that started it all!  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S58C65M

Synopsis
After Charlene Johnson's parents are killed in a car accident, she becomes guardian to her disabled brother. With no income coming in, she is forced to move to Eden, Kentucky, the one place her mother told her to stay away from.

Once there, she's certain her mother would also warn her to keep away from the dark and sexy Zack Abingdon. A man of mystery who claims Charlene is his mate. Zack has waited for what seems a lifetime for the other half of his soul. He wants a family of his own, but the woman he has his eye on has no idea he is a werewolf. However, he knows he is the only one who can keep her safe from the evil that stalks Eden.

While he tries to convince her he is the wolf of her heart, she is playing hard to get, and Zack is fearful he will lose her before he can mark her as his own. As Zack and Charlene are finding their way into love, an evil jinni who has wreaked havoc on the town of Eden for decades decides he wants Charlene for his own.

When she learns the truth of her heritage, Zack hopes he can convince her he is the other half of her soul before it's too late.

Excerpt
Jethro cleared his throat. “And this is Zachariah Abingdon.”

Charlene expected to see someone the same age as Jethro and Rebekkah. She caught a whiff of soap and some unrecognizable musky spice and jumped, startled to find him standing at her elbow.

The younger man flipped shocks of silver hair away from his piercing blue eyes. A trail of heat blazed in her face and ignited a fire in her core. He gazed down at her, an amused hint of a smile playing on his full, sensuous lips. “Call me Zack.”

She felt as if he had reached out and caressed her cheek. He took her hand, and a surge of energy jolted her. Did he feel it, too? Dry-mouthed, she squeaked, “Are we related?”

He smiled, showing beautiful white teeth. “No. Is it a problem?”

Warmth filled her chest and suffused her face. She stared down at his large hand still clasping hers. She didn’t want to let go. How long could you hold a stranger’s hand without being inappropriate? “No. Not at all.”

Jethro cleared his throat again, and Zack grinned at her, a sly expression on his face as he slid his fingers away.

She glanced down, half-expecting to see a visible red glow where his touch lingered on her skin.

“We should let other people speak with you.” Jethro pressed an envelope into her hand. “There are no orphans among our people. Come home. We can help you take care of Joey in Eden.”

Goose bumps ran up her spine. How did he know about her brother? Eden. Her mother had warned her. Who exactly are these people?

She stared at the odd trio in their old-fashioned garb as they moved toward the memory table and whispered to each other. She couldn’t make out the words, but the tone sounded pleased. Pleased by what? She examined her new bangle. Feathery-scripted Js twined across the surface. Joanna.

As she puzzled over the dark metal, a dumpling of a woman lunged at Charlene and pulled her into a bear hug. The brassy-blonde reeked of cheap perfume, and her nose bore the signs of time spent with a bottle. “So sorry,” she slurred. “Tragic.”

~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~ Excerpt:

Two demon guards clad in black body armor entered the barracks. Their red eyes glowed behind dark face shields. They approached Victor and one guard said, “Get up and come with us.” All the guards sounded and looked alike. They were even the same height and body structure. Victor knew better than to refuse. There would be no point in fighting, even if he was so inclined. He guessed he would be going to one of two possible places. It would either be the punishment chamber because he’d killed Slate too quickly or -- and this was more likely -- to the demon masters who had bargained with him to kill for their entertainment. The guards brought Victor out of the barracks and down a steel corridor to an elevator at the end. They boarded it. Except for the soft whir of the elevator descending, there was silence. It stopped with an almost imperceptible lurch. The door opened and Victor, accompanied by the guards, stepped into a spacious room with an enormous glass ball in the center of it. Several couches surrounded it. While the upholstery resembled leather, Victor’s sense of smell told him the couches were covered with material that hadn’t come from any four-legged animal. He’d been in this room before. Here, the demons had bargained with him for the lives of his fellow gladiators, their mates, and their cubs. Here, he’d traded his integrity and his soul for their lives. The guards disappeared into dark corners of the room. Since he had no intention of sitting on the foul furniture, Victor stood near the glass ball and waited. The ball glowed faintly at first. Then it brightened. From within, two demon masters -- one male and one female -- stared at him. He knew they weren’t actually there. The ball was similar to television. He could see and hear them, but they were far away. The male had ink-black, elbow-length hair. Tall and slim, he was dressed from head to foot in red. The female had short white hair. Her skin was nearly as pale as her form-fitting white dress. Both demons stared at him with black eyes. “Your game has improved, Victor,” said the male, “but I’m afraid you still haven’t mastered the art of performing. Your kills aren’t entertaining enough, but for now that’s beside the point. We haven’t called you here to critique your style, but for another reason.” “We have something special planned for you,” the female continued. “There’s a new contender in the tower -- one who has seen you fight and wishes to face you in the arena.” ~♥~♥~♥~♥~♥~ Other Books in the Series: Bolt (Fangs and Fists 1) Fangs and Fists 1: Bolt Buy Links:

At sixteen, Sarah Atwell walked away from her love of horses and a promising career as a competitive rider after discovering she’d inherited the family curse. Years later, her grandmother stunned everyone by leaving Sarah her horse farm—worth millions—but with conditions Sarah might not be able to meet. A former Redclaw agent, Casey Barnes retired when a security assignment went bad, killing his partner and leaving him as a partial amputee. His inner wolf is in hiding. He’s been living quietly as a horse trainer, but June Atwell’s death now pits him against her granddaughter for rights to the stable. With both of them snowed in at the farm, a series of increasingly serious accidents draws Sarah and Casey closer together, but they both harbor secrets that might tear them apart. Ghost of a Chance is a paranormal romance story. Amazon Buy Link: https://amzn.to/2nbVC33 Excerpt: For some reason, he glanced back at Sarah where she waited by the door. The backlight of falling snow through the glass in the shadowed hallway created the suggestion of a black-and-white photograph. The only spot of color was the bright red scarf at the collar of her coat and the wine-dark lipstick she wore. She leaned against the wall with her eyes closed. Something inside him clicked, as though recognizing a scene from a movie. His heart stopped a beat, flipped over, and thudded again with increased intensity. No. It couldn’t be. Not her. He hurried away, head still reeling at his reaction. When he returned with an armload of clothing, she was nowhere to be seen. Her laptop sat by her shoes, one pretty little pump turned over on its side. As expected, he discovered her in the living room, staring at the pictures on the wall. “There you are.” She jumped at the sound of his voice. “Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.” He adjusted the heap of clothing piled over one arm and held out a pair of snow boots. “She had so many photographs of me.” Sarah took the boots almost automatically, and indicated the walls covered with pictures, ones Casey had seen many times. That had to be it. Why she felt so familiar. Why she seemed to be the one. Relief washed over him. Obviously he’d spent too much time alone if he thought Sarah Atwell was his destined mate. A Ghost of a Chance by Abigail Owen
What’s a girl to do when her brother’s ghost appears asking for help? If that wasn’t bad enough, finding her not-dead-yet brother’s body before he becomes permanently spectral isn’t her only problem. Josie can’t save him on her own. The only person who can help is the last person who would want to. Bryce Evans, a man she once wrapped hopes of her future around, can’t stand to be near her. How can she convince him when her evidence is a ghost he can’t see?

Excerpt
Josie was in trouble. Noticing Bryce’s great butt had to be completely inappropriate at this moment in time. Josie had a sneaking suspicion inappropriate didn’t begin to cover it, but how could she look away with said butt directly in her face?

Of course, today was no exception. She’d always been hyper aware regarding the perfection that was Bryce’s body—broad shoulders, trim waist, and six-pack that begged to be stroked. Every woman in town, even the taken ones, unanimously acknowledged that his dark hair, warm brown eyes, strong jaw, and deep voice made Bryce a welcome star in any sexual fantasy. Didn’t help that he was also smart, genuinely nice, and occasionally funny. He’d been starring in her fantasies for years, though these days were quite different from her teenage years.

Josie gave herself a mental slap. Quit it. He hates you, and you aren’t allowed to like him. Right? After the incident during her freshman year of college, she’d shut him out. Shut everyone out. For good reason too.

“Are you staring at my best friend’s butt?” A masculine voice interrupted her thoughts.

She flicked a glance at the spectral image of her brother.

Peter hovered along beside her and rolled his eyes. “Of course not. What was I thinking? You can’t stand each other.”

That hurt. As a girl, Bryce was her own personal hero, and she’d harbored a massive crush. Then, the summer before she went to college, they spent a day together fishing. He kissed her. Not a chaste kiss either, but one that surpassed every girlish fantasy she’d pinned on him. She’d hoped….

No. That ship had sailed long ago, about the time she had come home for Christmas break her freshman year of college. So why did she still blush when she caught one of those intense stares of his? Because she was into self-torture apparently.

Peter flipped around to float backwards and peered into her face. “Unless you secretly still have a crush.”

Josie snorted and hoped he believed it.

Bryce paused and looked over his shoulder at her. “Problem?”

She swatted a hand around. “Bug.”

Peter laughed, the sound pinging around her in the oddest way, as though it had no single source. “I resemble that remark,” he said.

Unaware of the byplay between her and Peter, Bryce nodded. “Let’s pause for a water break here.”

Dangerous Dreams, by J.C. McKenzie

As a dragon shifter in hiding, Lara Stone wants nothing to do with others of her kind or finding a mate. No way, no how. She's perfectly content to work for a security company, masquerading as a simple mage. When the leader of all the dragon clans personally requests her as a bodyguard, Lara fears her secret is blown, or worse. What danger could possibly make Rafael Dragoi, the powerful Astarot, seek protection?

Excerpt
The large double doors loomed in front of her. Instead of grabbing the intricately designed dragon handles, she wrapped her knuckles against the smooth wood and took a deep breath.

“Enter.”

With her heart in her throat, Lara ran her hands along the beautiful dragon handles and pushed open the heavy door. She’d never met Rafael Dragoi, and had hoped to keep it that way. As the leader of not only the Obsidian Dragon Clan, but the whole enclave, he would be a fierce alpha—exhibiting the very best and worst traits in the package.

Why had Rafael Dragoi requested her for a job? As far as anyone in her agency was concerned, she was a lowly mage.

I can think of some jobs to do for him, purred her dragon.

A tall man, with broad shoulders and powerful stature, faced the floor to ceiling windows with his hands clasped behind his back, presumably watching the world outside.

“Astarot Dragoi,” Lara said formally.

The Astarot turned slowly. His power radiated out and licked her skin. Flowing over her body, his energy called to her own and sent heat racing through her veins.

Lara stiffened.

Her dragon pressed against the locked cages and moaned.

Wanton harlot.

“Miss Stone.” Midnight hair framed chiseled features. His striking dragon-green gaze smouldered, as his power rolled over her in sensuous waves.

“A bit tacky to feel up the help, don’t you think?” With a mental flick of her hand, Lara slapped his magic away. As a female dragon shifter, she possessed a significant amount of power herself.
Myths and Legends 101, by L.A. Kelley
Flickering lights.  Strange drifting shadows. Unnatural cold. Anthropology professor Jim Calloway is convinced the recent eerie phenomena at Octavian College are due to his overactive imagination until he meets Keilana Yamada and her eccentric grandfather, Toshi. Dazzled by the beautiful Keilani, Jim volunteers to help hunt for an ancient evil roaming the ivied halls. Can a mild-mannered academic find his inner demon hunter and a way into Keilani’s heart? Or will a supernatural predator with an insatiable hunger destroy them first?

Excerpt
Deep in thought, Jim pulled up one step short of walking into a wall. He glanced around in annoyance. Where the hell was he? He retraced his route. Perhaps, that last turn was right instead of left. He hit another dead end.

An icy draft skittered across his cheek. Jim shivered and picked up the pace. He turned another corner and came upon a long dimly lit corridor. At the far end was a door with an illuminated exit sign overhead. Relieved, Jim took a step.

The temperature plummeted to glacial levels. The letters on the sign flickered.

He swallowed. “It’s an old building. The wiring is bad.”

Tick-TICK-tick-TICK. The hall light flicked on and off.

Jim broke into a trot. His foot hit something hard and slick. He momentarily lost his balance and put out a hand, steadying himself against the wall. The concrete block surface was icy cold to the touch.

“Just the air conditioning,” he croaked with a bone dry mouth.

The small hairs rose on the back of his neck. For the second time in one day, the eerie sensation of being watched settled over him. Jim peered at the deep shadows crisscrossing the far end of the hallway. Out of the corner of his eye, something fluttered.
The Keeper, by Sharon Saracino
When a stranger lands on her slab, poisoned with silver and reeking of vampire, Medical Examiner Olivia Duncan fears someone's discovered her dangerous secret. Enter Nick Alexios, a mysterious man with a hidden agenda of his own. Olivia ignites his passion and challenges his loyalties, making him question his duty. Nick might be Olivia’s salvation...or her downfall. Will honor-bound promises drive them apart or unite them against threats from both near and far?

Excerpt
Olivia froze when she saw the Sex-in-a-Suit following close on Jack’s heels. Dark hair waved back from a high forehead, sculpted cheekbones, and a long, straight nose. Broad shoulders strained the seams of his suit jacket, and his crisp shirt glowed snowy white against the smooth, olive skin of his throat. His golden brown gaze drew her in like iron filings to a magnet.

Her chin rose as the two men drew level with her. The corners of the stranger’s full, well-formed lips curled slightly. Shifter? Definitely. But, who and what was he?

“Hey, Liv.” Jack swept off his police cap and tucked it under his arm. “Wanted to introduce you to the new guy since, as Medical Examiner, your paths are bound to cross. This is Detective Nick Alexios. Nick, this is Dr. Olivia Duncan.”

“Doctor.” The stranger’s faint accent made her simple professional title sound like a proposition. He flashed a blinding white smile and stuck out a hand. “A pleasure.”

“Detective.” Olivia took his hand, and her mouth went oddly dry when he bowed over it and raised it to his lips in lieu of the expected handshake. A spark of heat ignited low in her belly and spread, raising the fine hairs on the back of her neck. “Alexios. That’s Greek, yes? You’re a long way from home.”

“Indeed. But, what one seeks is sometimes found in the most unexpected places.”

Olivia glanced at their joined hands. “I can’t imagine what anyone hopes to find in a place as small and remote as Cedar Creek.”

“Can’t you?” Alexios arched a dark brow, squeezed her fingers, and then released them.

He reached to tug the cuff of his shirt over his wrist, but not before Olivia caught a glimpse of the ink on its inner surface, a crown clutched in a wicked looking talon. The design of the tattoo exactly matched the birthmark on her hip. She swallowed a gasp, and her gaze flew to his. His smile stretched even wider.

Who in hell was this guy?
Witch You Were Here, by Maureen L. Bonatch
Lucy is a witch with a successful business righting magical mischief. A call for help from her high-school heartache, Shane, prompts Lucy to manage his magical mayhem herself. No longer a nervous, hormonal, teenager, Lucy takes the case to force an apology and bury her past humiliation. To her surprise, Shane insists he couldn’t forget Lucy—because she hexed him ten years ago. Will Shane and Lucy put their past behind them, or will the spell prove permanent?

Excerpt
“So you’re saying you forgot what you did to me?”

Lucy started at his cocky demeanor. The high school grudge would need to be buried before she could act as his enchanted guide. Otherwise she might be tempted to overlook it if he accidentally spelled off a toe or two of his own during his transition. “What I did to you? What are you talking about? How about what you did to me?” Empathy temporarily forgotten, anger bubbled to the surface. She tapped her finger against her chest. “You’re the one who taunted me and made my life so miserable that I had to change my name.”

He sputtered a protest. “That wasn’t me.”

“Yeah, right. You can lay on the charm with the other ladies, but it won’t work on me. Remember, I’m a witch—”

“How could I forget?” Shane rose to his feet and braced hands on his hips.

“Apparently you did,” Lucy scoffed. “I’m a witch, so I don’t forget…anything. Ever.”

A scowl twisted his face. “Well, neither can I, thanks to you.” He removed his suit jacket and threw it over his chair. He unbuttoned his shirt.

Lucy’s mouth snapped open. One by one Shane released the buttons to reveal the tank top he wore underneath. The thin fabric emphasized the defined muscles of his chest. She swallowed. “What are you doing?”

“Providing you with a visual reminder,” he snapped. “Maybe this will stir your memory.”

All her stories have fantasy, humor, romance, and a touch of sass. In her spare time she enjoys phoning in Bigfoot sightings to the Florida Department of Fish and Wildlife. They are heartily sick of hearing from her.

When she is not reading, writing, or enjoying photography and genealogy, she brews limoncello, dreams of moving to Italy, and works as a Certified Registered Rehabilitation Nurse.
